“Design a boat having weight carrying capacity”

Design Specifications:

1) The dimensions of the boat should not exceed 45cm × 30 cm.

2) Pay load will be of the order of x*102 gm(x>0.5).

3) There is no upper limit for pay load.

Rules and Regulations

Each team can have a maximum of 4 members.

Each team’s ideas have to be original.

All the team members must be present during the finals.

In case of any discrepancy the decision of the judges will be final.

‘Junkyard Wars’ organizing team reserves the right to eliminate the participants in case of any misconduct.

Judging Criteria:

For prelims: Design of the boat and its feasibility.

For finals: Load carrying capacity and time taken to transport it.

Submission Format:

Design mentioning complete specification details like materials used, dimensions, etc must be submitted latest by Thursday, 18th September 2008 to any one of the following:

You should also mention along with your design the fabrication process of your designed boat and the working of critical parts like propeller, etc
