MECH-SOC : The Society
One of the most organized and professional outfits of the college where the theoretical expertise of the mechanical engineering students are synchronised with their talent to make every program a success. In recent times, Magnum Opus has been a hub of activities that has brought laurels to the institution. To call it merely a society would undermine its magnanimity.
It primarily focuses on the technical aspects of mechanical engineering, industrial engineering and management, which touches every nook and corner of the vast info highway. It is not only a technical society but also an object oriented one where every single view point is paid heed to. It strives to achieve perfection par excellence with several successful events under its belt.
It conducts a national level symposium called ‘Magnum Opus’, in which several well-known educational institutions from all over the nation participate.

Magnum Opus is an event that lives up to its name with the objective of bringing out the technical and managerial proficiency of the students. It attracts the students of various technical and management institutes throughout the country to present their papers and share information displaying alongside their skills. Apart from the technical activities, events like Mr and Ms NITK, Sachs Appeal and Word-o-philia add to the pomp and grandeur. Our personality contest, Mr and Ms NITK has gone on to become the most awaited event in the college with the talented students vying for the prestigious title. Events like Junkyard Wars and Incognito cater to the creative hunger of a true engineer. Torque, the only quiz of its kind is a delight for all the automobile enthusiasts.
