Mr & Miss NITK is the central and the most awaited event of Magnum Opus and by far the most popular event organized in the institute attracting a huge audience each year. The contest is the only one of its kind held in the institution. It not only brings forth the cultural talent of the students but also reflects their intellect and mettle as the contestants are taken through one challenging round after another. It unravels the gems of NITK.


JUNKYARD WARS

Creativity and imagination are the two most important traits an engineer needs to possess. Junkyard Wars is one such event which stretches the ingenuity and mental prowess of the participants to the brink. Innovative and at the same time interesting, this event involves making something functional out of literally junk. Through this the students get an opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge gained during the course of college to practical situations. This is one of the main events which directly relates to Mechanical Engineering.

TORQUE

A must for all automobile enthusiasts, this event delves into the past, present and the ever evolving future of anything on wheels. An automobile trivia which will get the adrenalin rushing. A quiz having a character and history of its own. If the Ducatis and the Porsches give you the goosebumps, you just can’t afford to miss this event.

APPRENTICE

Making the young techies feel the heat of the advertising world. Encouraging people to let their creative juices flow in fabricating an ad campaign for a product, a company or a multi-national. The versatility of the ideas will be put to test as ads have to be made for the print and mass media.

MECH-VIBES

Innovative papers are sought after on the trends and the latest technologies in the world of mechanical engineering. All those who are excited about these developments can come and gratify their intellectual thirst.
